The power plant disaster

Fukushima power plant eruption and the environmental threats

The Fukushima power plant was severely damaged due to the major hit of Tsunami in 2011 March. The power plant Dai ichi and Dai ni was severely disrupted and damaged due to the aftershocks and the earthquake in March.

What happened to the nuclear plant during the major earthquake?

During the earth quake in March,2011 the power plant was unable to function its safety measures to close the generations. So,this can be defined as a equipment failure because the regulations and the mechanism of the plant is set to an order during a crisis situation to automatically follow the instructions to take the safety measures to protect the harms for the plant. However, unfortunately the measures of safety and the equipments didn’t work out due to the electricity supply failure due to the Tsunami and the earth quake situation during the time of this accident. The failure to generate electricity to close down the reactors was the major problem that they found at the situation. These reactors began to overheat and damaged the power plant seriously.

What are the major threats that can be created after this kind of accident?

It is considered that the Fukushima power plant accident was the second large worst incident that can be the largest after the Chernobyl disaster. During the effort to shut down the reactors those reactors began to melt down and then there was a hydrogen explosion. The reason is that because there was no electricity to cool down the reactors they were overheating. However after the meltdowns the radioactive gasses began to release into the atmosphere and the government instructed the people to evacuate from the area with 20 kilometers from the power plant.Caesium is one of the harmful radioactive gases which released from the power plant during the accident. Not only to the atmosphere but also to the water and the other resources around. However, it is said that the levels of radiations is higher than it is described. Then, also it is criticized that the safety guidelines were not given properly for the people.

What are the major threats to human beigs?
The major health hazards did not appear at the moment of the explosion but after some period after the situation. Most of the kids are affected due this situation because they are still at the age of growing. The major threat is the cancer. Most of the children who are living within the affected area were removed and they were under gone for safety checks to clarify whether they were affected by the nuclear contamination. The children were not allowed to play outdoors. The most serious problem is the radio active materials have entered into the food chains of the people within the 200 km area from Fukushima. The fishery products, milk and the tea are the major areas of contamination. Then, also the rain has given much chances to widespread the radioactive materials to the other parts of the country.

The Japan crisis March 11,2011

The unforgotten day of Japan March 11 2011

The Japan had to face the worst day of deserter on March 11 2011 and this was considered as the worst day of Japanese history ever after the incident of Hiroshima Nagasaki nuclear bombing. The incident occurred in the great east Japan and the magnitude of the earth quake was reported as 9.0.The major affected area was Kanthoku region near Tokyo. This huge earthquake was considered as the most powerful and the deadly disaster in Japanese history. As a result of the earthquake the Tsunami began to occur and this tide was 10 kilometers high in the inland. The Iwate prefecture, Miyako prefecture, Kesenuma prefecture and Fukushima prefecture.

The Japanese prime minister during that time considered this as the most severe disaster they have to face after the world war 11.more than 20,000 Japanese people died due to the Tsunami. Then, the next crisis after the Tsunami was the Fukushima nuclear power plant crisis. Due to the Tsunami the nuclear power plants in Fukushima began to malfunction due to the irregular electricity supply. Then, the power plant was affected hugely by the tsunami. As a result of that most of the nuclear gasses inside the plant began to release into the atmosphere. Most of these nuclear chemicals are very harmful to the humanbeings. The explosions inside the power plant made the situation more badly and the nuclear emissions began to occur as a result of this situation. The fukusshima Dai ichi power plant and the dai ni power plant began to melt down little by little after the Tsunami. The radius outcomes were released from these plants and the Japanese government instructed the people to evacuate from the area within 20 kilometers from the plants in Fukushima.

As a result of this most of the people had to leave their home towns and they could not come to that area gain.Even, the cattle and the other dairy producing cows are killed because they have contaminated the radium. The next danger was the rain that caused the radium and other ill effective toxins to spread over to the other closer cities and the prefectures. The clouds which were gathered in the Fukushima can be shifted into the other areas of the country through wind. As a result of that the earth and the soil is affected. The plants and the other major water streams are filled with these contaminated water it will easily enter into the food chain of the people. So, the Japanese university professors taking their very best effort to reduce this effect.
